Summary
I conducted a literature review and designed a series of tests, applying a usability test to a novel data science dashboard for big-data analysis across medical discplines.
Description
I had the opportunity to intern under the leadership of Ian Joyce in the 711th Human Performance Wing. I was selected for this opportunity based on performance in a prior internship with 711 HPW. The opportunity was provided by the U.S. Department of Defense. I worked as an independent Human Factors expert with teams of data scientists, software developers, and medical professionals. I organized and facilitated efforts from each team to produce a research usability study series, testing the software across domains, and ending with meta-analytic methods. I compared the use and feasability of multiple tests: System Usability Scale, Post-Study System Usability Scale, etc. This project focused leveraging Interactive Machine Learning (iML) and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) (DARPA, Birlasoft) to augment end-users, untrained in advance machine learning algorithms, with state-of-the-art methods. These efforts support the Department of Defense by advancing knowledge in Human-Machine Co-Learning and Human Factors in advanced Data Science contexts. Human Factors Skills: Job/Task Analysis, Ecological Interface Design, Usability and Satisfaction Testing (SUS, PSSUQ, QUIS, SUMI, CSUQ), Proof of Concept Development, User-Centered/Human-Centered Design. Data Science Skills: Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Interactive Machine Learning (iML), Big Data, Medical Data, Data Representation, Topological Hierarchical Decomposition, AGILE and Incremental Validation
